General information

Changes regarding UlTi Steel:

1. We have replaced the SKR 1.3 board with a board of our own design - Cherry 3D. Moving to another platform allows you to solve many problems with the usability of the printer, namely:
- Long awaited support for USB memory sticks. In this case, you can continue to use SD cards.
- Added custom display color setting. Color indication of the printing process (red - error, green - printing finished, blinking white - heating).
- Ability to invert the encoder from the printer menu.
- Made a deep revision of the mathematics for calculating the speed / acceleration and steps of the motors. In the new version, the controller does not "collapse" the steps and counts them with high accuracy due to the mathematical processor built into the MK. We will release an article with a detailed analysis of this change a little later.
- Firmware update and configuration text file are now more convenient. Any changes are made to the file and downloaded to the printer via a USB memory stick. No need to compile the firmware.
- Installation of any stepper motor drivers is now possible without setting jumpers. Fully software-configurable driver.
- Separate high-frequency PWM output for connecting the case backlight. At any brightness level, the lighting does not flicker.
- Additional controlled outputs for connecting coolers (2 HotEnd, HotBed, 3 outputs for coolers, 2 uncontrolled power connectors).
In the future, the functionality will be constantly expanded and supplemented.

2. On version 2, a printhead interface board is installed for quick, more convenient connection and replacement of attachments (coolers, heating element, thermistor).

3. Structurally, UlTi Steel 2 practically does not differ from its predecessor. The size of the printer has increased by 4 mm, in addition:
- The dimensions and design of the protective cap have changed (the number of elements has decreased, the design has been optimized). The acrylic doors remain the same dimensions.
- The design will no longer have spacers for limit switches.
- F688 bearing holders are stronger.
